Facelift

Korean Woman

fashdloops.com

“Have you had a face lift?” the beautiful Korean woman sitting across from me, asked. I had just met her. More than a little surprised at the personal nature of the question, I stuttered a quick, “No.” Then peering at her perfect skin and guessing her to be about thirty, I asked, “have you?”

“Oh yes,” her nod added emphasis to her words, “and I would strongly suggest you should too.” It was all I could do to keep from spewing my mouthful of tea in her flawless face.

My website, however, was in need of a little nip and tucking. After all, it has matured and now knows who it is and what it’s about. But my face? Not a chance. I like what Victor Hugo said: Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face. And isn’t that the truth? No matter how wizened, toothless, and gnarly, a smiling face is always beautiful.

That lady needs what we refer to in London as ‘a dry slap!’ Oh Sherry, I couldn’t help but laugh. Asians are not backwards in coming forwards. If I had a dollar for every comment I’ve had about being fat I’d be a rich woman!!

The latest nip and tuck on your blog is terrific, very fresh looking 😀

A dry slap? What on earth is that? I think I need to know. I’m glad you approve of the updates to the website. My daughter has been after me to ‘freshen it up’ and I finally hunkered down and just did it.

A ‘dry slap’ is when you just wave your hand in front of someones face as if you were going to slap them – you don’t (tempting though it may be) it’s a rude gesture without being violent – think passive/aggressive!!

Well you answered a question that I was too polite to ask. I’m just not Asian enough.

I understand the woman’s question. You are so gorgeous, Sherry and look so many years younger than your age. Never have a facelift. Your character shines through your eyes and your smile. Really.

The fact that she had to ask means you look better than great!
